Haskell Wexler, at the Tiburon International Film Festival, and invited
George Lucas to give him the award. Wexler was a two-time Academy
Award-winning cinematographer.

کوه و عقرب و خدا در سه فیلم

«کوه»، نبرد امیر نادری با خودش
دوربین اشخاصی را نشان می‌دهد، بعد نمایی از یک کوه دیده می‌شود. شب سر
می‌رسد. زنی با شوهر و فرزندش پیرامون چراغی روشن نشسته‌اند. روستاییانی
درگیر با بیماری طاعون. «کوه» زنده است و شب‌ها پاره‌هایی از کوه که از
بدنه‌اش جدا شده و به پایین می‌ریزد. حرف چندانی میان شخصیت‌های فیلم رد و
بدل نمی‌شود و کار دیالوگ‌نویسی را آسان می‌کند ولی اینکه می‌خواهد با زبان
تصویر سخن بگوید تا حدی ثقیل است. البته دلیل دیگرش هم ندانستن زبان است
که نادری چون داستان فیلم‌هایش را هم می‌نویسد، در نتیجه دیالوگِ کم برایش
سهل‌تر است. اشکال کار نادری اما اینست که با فرهنگ محیط فیلم‌هایش آشنا
نیست و اصرار دارد فیلم‌هایش را در کشورهایی که به زبان و فرهنگ آنها
آشنایی ندارد بسازد. «کوه» را در ایتالیا ساخته که چرایش معلوم نیست.
